Legacy Cycles Provide a Powerful Resource for STEM Education Scholars

The 2008 STEM Education Scholars Program will offer a session on “Challenge-Based Instruction,” an exciting topic in science teaching. Vanderbilt University professors Alene Harris and Stacy Klein will share a powerful resource for instructors interested in challenging their students.

The presenters will deliver a hands-on workshop on using Legacy Cycles from the book “How People Learn: Brain, Mind, Experience, and School.” Participants will refine their course objectives, design real-world challenges, apply the Legacy Cycle to their own courses, and present the results to their peers.

The STEM Education Scholars Program is open to new faculty, post-doctoral researchers, and advanced graduate students. For more information, or to enroll, visit the program web site.
