SUMMARY:Exploring Academic Careers Beyond the Professoriate with CIRTL Alumni
DESCRIPTION:In this online panel\, we’ll hear from CIRTL alumni who have built careers supporting faculty\, teaching\, and STEM education beyond traditional professor roles. Our panelists work in faculty affairs\, future faculty development\, and STEM program implementation\, offering perspectives from a medical school\, a center for teaching and learning\, and a university-based STEM education program. They will discuss what their positions are like\, how they became interested in this work\, how their doctoral training and CIRTL experiences prepared them for their roles\, and what professional growth can look like in these career paths. \nSpeakers\n\nLenny Ramsey\, Director of Faculty Affairs\, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine\nBenjamin Ha\, Assistant Director for Future Faculty Development\, UCLA Center for Education Innovation and Learning in the Sciences\nC. Britt Carlson\, Associate Director for STEM Program Implementation\, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign\n\nThis is the third event in our four-part series\, “Exploring Career Paths with CIRTL Alumni.” \nEvent Schedule\nThis online event meets on Monday\, November 16\, from 9-10pm Gulf / 12-1pm Eastern / 11am-12pm Central / 10-11am Arizona / 9-10am Pacific. \nAudience\nThis event is designed first and foremost for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers interested in academic careers beyond the professoriate\, but is generally relevant to anyone interested in understanding career trajectories within academia and beyond. \nRegistration\nREGISTER NOW \nThis event has no registration cap.
