CIRTL staff create annual reports summarizing information about the programming – events, workshops, courses, etc. – that the CIRTL Network offers. These reports include the number and types of programs we run, the number and types of participants they support, how the programs relate to in-kind contributions, and key findings and anecdotes pulled from program evaluations. The reporting period is September-August, matching our academic calendar.

Programming

We ran 43 offerings, consisting of 8 courses, 3 MOOCs, 17 workshops, 13 drop-in events, and 2 teaching institutes.

Attendance & Participants

More than 1,700 participants attended cross-Network programming over 3,400 times.

Evaluation

The vast majority of respondents (94%) reflected positively on their participation in our programming, and 80% noted that the presence of participants from other institutions across the Network positively impacted their experience. Respondents largely saw the relevance of programming to their teaching development, agreeing that programming enhanced their knowledge of evidence-based teaching techniques (90%), helped them develop their teaching skills (92%), and taught them something they could integrate into their own teaching (94%). Similarly, respondents thought programming was relevant to their career development, agreeing that they could apply lessons learned to their work environment (93%), and that programming was helping them prepare for their career paths (87%).

Instructors

53 instructors from 28 member institutions taught cross-Network programming.
