The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Penn State invites applications for Director of Graduate Affairs. The position will include a non-tenure-track Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor appointment. We seek individuals who have a demonstrated commitment to promoting student success through mentoring and teaching. The Director of Graduate Affairs will be responsible for the administration of the Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology Graduate Program in collaboration with one or more faculty leaders. Responsibilities will include recruiting, annual budgeting and budget management, generating funding and program statistics reports, and managing student relations and activities. The Director of Graduate Affairs is also specifically charged with efforts to increase diversity and maintain an inclusive climate in the program. The successful applicant will also contribute to the departmental teaching mission. Work expectations for the position include fall, spring, and summer duties, with time for curriculum development and improvement over the summer.
