Full-time, 12 month ongoing academic staff position

This position coordinates classroom and/or laboratory instruction associated with two, high-enrollment, introductory biology courses intended for biology majors. The successful applicant will assist with the development of pedagogy/andragogy and assessment tools and will provide resources to support quality student learning. Duties include overseeing the activities and instruction of teaching assistants assigned to the courses, aiding students with course material, holding office hours, developing curriculum for lab and discussion sections, creating and administering student assessment pieces (quizzes, homework, and exams), and working as a part of a team to advance education within the two courses.

The mission of Introductory Biology courses (Zoology/Biology/Botany 151/152 and Zoology 153) is to provide students with not only biological knowledge, but the skills to utilize and integrate that knowledge responsibly in new and complex ways in order to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century.
