Lecturer in Music
The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) School of Performing Arts welcomes candidates with a combination of expertise, teaching experience, and interest in music to apply for a Lecturer of Music (non-tenure track) position to begin in the fall of 2024. Candidates will have experience in conducting Concert Band as well as other instrumental ensembles at the college-level and hold a minimum degree of MA or MM in music. We welcome an innovative and collaboratively-minded individual inspired by interdisciplinarity who is interested in contributing to a community dedicated to student-centeredness, creativity, collaboration and innovation. Responsibilities include leading several sections of Concert Band and smaller ensembles, as well as teaching courses in music. Additional responsibilities may include conducting private and group instrumental lessons, mentoring students and collaborating with faculty and students on theatrical and dance productions. This position may involve serving as a Performing Arts Scholar Guide which includes presenting at and attending admissions events, meeting with Performing Arts Scholars, reviewing and ranking audition videos, and collaboratively developing PAS programming such as workshop and enrichment activities.
Lecturer in Theatre

Candidates should demonstrate experience in directing and acting as well as college-level teaching in the discipline. They should hold a minimum degree of MFA in theatre. We seek an innovative and collaboratively minded individual inspired by interdisciplinarity who is interested in contributing to a community committed to student-centeredness; creativity; scholarship; integrity and ethics; respect, diversity, and pluralism; innovation and flexibility; and teamwork and collaboration. Interests in Deaf theatre, voice acting, and/or digital performance are welcomed. Responsibilities will include producing and directing theatre productions; teaching courses in theatre performance, acting for theatre, directing for theatre, voice acting, theatre history, American theatre traditions, and other practice-related topics. This position may involve serving as a Performing Arts Scholar Guide which includes presenting at and attending admissions events, meeting with Performing Arts Scholars, reviewing and ranking audition videos, and collaboratively developing PAS programming such as workshop and enrichment activities. Lecturer in Music
The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) School of Performing Arts welcomes candidates with a combination of expertise, teaching experience, and interest in jazz, popular music and festival production to apply to this Lecturer of Music (non-tenure track) position to begin in the fall of 2024. Candidates will have experience teaching music, and more specifically jazz, at the college-level and hold a minimum degree of MA or MM in music. We welcome an innovative and collaboratively-minded individual inspired by interdisciplinarity who is interested in contributing to a community dedicated to student-centeredness, creativity, collaboration and innovation. Responsibilities include leading several sections of the RIT Jazz Ensemble as well as smaller ensembles which include jazz combos. This position involves overseeing the School’s newly formed Popular Music Collective which provides collaborative opportunities for students interested in performing, producing, recording and promoting popular music on and off campus. The Collective encompasses more than fifty popular music bands as well as rehearsal spaces and equipment for student use. Additionally, we prefer candidates with experience in the logistics and management of large musical events such as festivals. The lecturer may also teach courses in music, conduct private and group instrumental lessons, mentor students and collaborate with faculty and students on theatrical and dance productions.
