The School of Chemistry and Materials Science (SCMS) at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position, beginning in August 2025.
Required Qualifications:
– A PhD degree in biochemistry or a closely related discipline
– Postdoctoral research experience
– Evidence of sustained peer reviewed publications in disciplinary journals
– A proposed independent research program that is aligned with current federal funding opportunities.
– Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Priority will be given to candidates whose research program:
– is focused at the interface of biochemistry and machine learning/artificial intelligence/computational modeling;
– will attract external funding from agencies such as NIH, NSF, industry, or other governmental or private sources;
– will incorporate both undergraduate and graduate students at RIT.
