Professor and School Head, School of Physics and Astronomy
The School of Physics and Astronomy (SoPA) in the College of Science (COS) at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is inviting applications for the position of Professor and School Head. RIT seeks a visionary and proven dynamic leader to serve as the Head of SoPA who will work with the faculty to implement a shared vision for the future of the School. As the chief academic, fiscal, and administrative officer of the School, the Head provides leadership, advocacy, oversight, and management. The Head is responsible for overseeing academic, student, faculty, and staff affairs, for leading the operational activities of the School, and for helping to facilitate the research, scholarship, teaching, and service/outreach activities of its members. The Head will work closely with the leadership team in COS on strategic planning and interdisciplinary initiatives, and will coordinate the development of a multi-year strategic plan for SoPA to complement those at the College and Institute levels.
Assistant Professor, Physics – Experimental Optics and Photonics
The School of Physics and Astronomy at the Rochester Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Experimental Optics and Photonics for Science and Quantum Technology. The position is anticipated to be at the rank of Assistant Professor, however appointment at a higher rank would be considered for candidates carrying commensurate qualifications and academic standing. The position start date is August 2025. We are particularly interested in applicants who will strengthen and extend existing collaborations within the School of Physics Astronomy, RIT’s rapidly growing photonics and quantum communities, and with other regional partners, such as the AIM Photonics Institute. Areas of interest include experimental quantum optics and photonics and solid-state approaches to quantum technologies.

Assistant Professor, Neuroscience
The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) welcomes applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Neuroscience to begin in the fall of 2025. The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures in the College of Liberal Arts at Rochester Institute of Technology seeks applications for a German lecturer position starting in August 2025. Candidates will possess a Ph.D. in German or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of successful college-level German language teaching experience. Exceptional candidates with a master’s degree and extensive experience will also be considered. We require native or near-native proficiency in both German and English, as well as a demonstrated capacity to coordinate and develop the German program.
