We seek candidates with a terminal degree in the biological or biomedical sciences with a strong commitment to pedagogy and a specific interest in teaching and advising undergraduates from a diversity of backgrounds. Applicants having prior experience with evidence-based teaching practices are encouraged to apply; postdoctoral experience is preferred.
Faculty appointments will be made at the teaching track rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor commensurate with current academic standing and achievement (see description of ranks and terms at http://college.emory.edu/faculty/documents/lecture-track/ltf-policy-appointment-review.pdf). The teaching track at Emory College was established over 20 years ago and is one of the strongest and longest-running teaching tracks in the country with over 100 teaching track faculty.
Successful candidates will demonstrate experience and ability to teach human anatomy and physiology (A&P) or comparative vertebrate anatomy, as well as other introductory and/or upper-level lecture and laboratory courses in biology. In addition to teaching, commonly four courses per year, successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the academic life and governance of the Department, College of Arts and Sciences, and the University.
