The English Department at Rochester Institute of Technology seeks a Lecturer in creative writing prose to begin in August 2025. We are looking for an individual with experience teaching creative writing classes including those that integrate a range of digital platforms. The successful candidate’s goals will align with our vision of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in storytelling and making. Applicants must have a PhD or MFA by the time of hire. The successful applicant’s specialization will be in prose, which may include hybrid genres and experimental forms, and may be composed on a range of digital and/or analog platforms across traditional and new media. The successful candidate will be expected to teach workshops at all levels—which will include core courses, electives, and special topics—and to mentor students, advise capstone projects, and update current courses in their area(s) of specialization. This position does not require research responsibilities, allowing the focus to be entirely on educational excellence and student engagement.
