Lecturer PSOE in Chemistry – University of California, Los Angeles

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry in the UCLA Division of Physical Sciences invites applications for a Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment (LPSOE) position. This appointment confers membership in the Academic Senate and includes the opportunity for promotion to a Lecturer with Security of Employment (LSOE) position. The LPSOE/LSOE series emphasizes excellence and innovation in teaching and other instruction-related activities. We seek candidates who can teach effectively using evidence-based approaches, engage in service activities benefiting the teaching mission of the department and university, and pursue research in the scholarship of teaching and learning in chemistry. The successful candidate will be expected to seek external funding for research and other activities that enhance instruction, thereby helping to produce the leaders needed both statewide and nationally to work in the rapidly evolving STEM fields. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to publish the results of their research in peer reviewed sources.
