The Associate Director supports implementation of evidence-based pedagogical practices for undergraduate and graduate education at Stanford. Reporting to the Director of Academic Teaching Programs, the Associate Director employs established and cutting-edge research in education and learning science to advance teaching practices, ultimately impacting the learning experiences of Stanford students. In partnership with CTL colleagues and leadership across the university, the Associate Director designs, delivers, and assesses pedagogical programming for Stanford faculty and lecturers, including a portfolio that includes leading specific core CTL programs, which may include coaching and coordinating other staff who contribute to those programs, as well as conducting individual consultations and teaching feedback processes, developing new teaching-focused resources, and facilitating customized educational development experiences for groups of instructors. As part of the Academic Teaching Programs team, the Associate Director also contributes to strategy and long-range planning for pedagogical programming more broadly, and may take on special projects related to teaching at Stanford.
Among other qualifications listed in the full job posting link above, the job requires an advanced degree (Master’s, Ph.D., or Ed.D.) and two or more years of teaching experience as a primary instructor.
