The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at Virginia Tech is seeking an Assistant Director for Professional Development.  This individual will work primarily with the Director of Professional Development as well as the Director of Special Programs to provide professional development designed to empower and support Virginia Tech faculty to become effective and innovative educators focused on student learning and success.

The Assistant Director’s responsibilities will include:

  • developing and managing professional development programs designed to improve teaching and learning practices;
  • conducting research-based services to provide formative feedback for faculty development;
  • developing and managing professional development activities supporting the teaching and learning enterprise inclusive of faculty, instructors, postdoctoral associates and graduate students;
  • developing teaching and learning resources to support best practices;
  • supporting the overall mission of CETL by collaborating on programs for evidence-based educational practices;
  • serving on university committees, task forces, and other groups as an advocate for evidence-based, inclusive teaching and learning practices;
  • function in a year round (CY) academic program planning and management capacity.
