Our portfolio of grants and projects spans two campus units; the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER). This position is housed within the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER), which is part of the WCER.
As the CIMER Event & Program Specialist, your innovative spirit and dedicated focus to detail will be valued and leveraged from the start to help us deliver stellar outcomes. Your contributions will be critical to our growing fee-for-service portfolio by providing administrative and event support for local and national trainings and workshops, from initial planning stages to execution for remote and in-person events. Adaptability will be key as you navigate changing needs and collaborate with subject experts, colleagues, and clients to ensure smooth operations. Your role will also include supporting ongoing efforts for process improvement and administrative enhancements, as well as tracking, maintaining, and updating materials for CIMER trainings.
In this role, you will be the face of CIMER to our clients requesting event services and have two primary areas of responsibility: (1) You will coordinate event planning and provide real-time support for virtual and in-person events. This includes scheduling, agenda setting, and leading event planning meetings with clients as well as tracking progress and problem solving; managing logistics for in-person events including planning with vendors and providing onsite support; managing logistics for virtual events including setting up Zoom rooms and providing online support to facilitators and participants; preparing, printing, and shipping workshop materials as well as ensuring their quality; liaising with workshop facilitators, site hosts, participants, and our evaluation team; and maintaining accurate records in CIMER’s databases. (2) You will also assist with communications efforts, including (but not limited to) producing a newsletter for external audiences and updating the website through WordPress.

The CIMER Event & Program Coordinator will report to the CIMER Research Services Manager. The expected salary range for this position is $50,000 up to $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
