The Northwestern University Recruitment to Transform Under-Representation and achieve Equity (NURTURE) program based at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks an Evaluator to contribute to tracking, data collection, analysis, and reporting activities of NURTURE. NURTURE is supported through the NIH (National Institutes of Health) Common Fund’s Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation (FIRST) program which aims to enhance and maintain cultures of inclusive excellence in the biomedical research community through institutions in their building a self-reinforcing community of scientists, through recruitment of a critical mass of early-career faculty who have a demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence. The program also seeks to positively impact faculty development, retention, progression, and eventual promotion, and develop sustainable inclusive environments. The NIH FIRST program has extensive evaluation requirements to explore the success of mechanisms to diversify the biomedical community.

The Evaluator will collaborate with the NURTURE team, in particular the Evaluation Core, co-led by Kristi Holmes (NUCATS) and Bennett Goldberg (Program Evaluation Core) in evaluating NURTURE at Northwestern. They will also work with the national FIRST program through collaborative activities with the FIRST Coordination and Evaluation Center (CEC) and evaluation professionals from other national FIRST program institutions.

Responsibilities of this position include data collection, management, analysis, and reporting; primary responsibility for reporting Northwestern’s data for the NIH common metrics; and management of evaluation priorities and workflows. The Evaluator will contribute to all stages of evaluation and its dissemination. The Evaluator will help with data collection designed to measure research impact.. The Evaluator will collaborate on designing data collections plans, data dashboards, and other reports. All work will be carried out in a thoughtful, respectful, and inclusive manner, with the Evaluator joining a team of evaluation professionals across both campuses at Northwestern. This position will be based in a larger evaluation core within the Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (NUCATS). This position will jointly work with Northwestern’s Program Evaluation Core.
